‘Alzheimer’s The Musical’

We have had some enquiries concerning a BBC programme last week called ‘Alzheimer’s The Musical’.  The programme presented evidence that singing can be a useful stimulus for the brain, which  is more effective at retaining  words when used in song and music. Singing is therefore a useful and enjoyable stimulus for anyone with dementia. If anyone wants to find out more, the Alzheimer’s Society (http://alzheimers.org.uk) provide details, together with the names and addresses of local singing organisations.
